PIARA
The thread I used for the scarf and stole is "PIARA", which is my personal favorite thread.
“PIARA is a yarn that can be called the treasure of Toyoboshi, made from the most carefully selected raw materials of high-quality raw cashmere, using technology accumulated over many years and a manufacturing method that spares no time and effort. The oldest among Toyoboshi cashmere product. PIARA has been around for a long time and has passionate fans both inside and outside the country. It is a world-class product that boasts the beauty of its knitting "eyes," its smooth, soft texture, and its durability that can withstand years of use. ”

How to wash cashmere

-----------------------
Washing cashmere in the washing machine: Tips

・Water temperature below 30 °C
・Neutral detergent
・Delicate/Dry mode
・Put one item in laundry mesh bag, up to two in the machine
・Dry flat in the shade (do not tumble dry)
・Ironing is also possible.

Water temperature below 30 °C
In general, it is said that the higher the water temperature, the easier it is to remove dirt, but since it can also damage the fibers, the optimum temperature for cashmere is around 20°C, at most 30°C, where the detergent ingredients are most effective.

Neutral detergent
Weak alkalinity has excellent cleaning power, but it also has a greater effect on fibers. For cashmere, use a neutral detergent to minimize damage to the color and texture.

As little friction as possible
Cashmere can tangle due to friction, causing pilling and shrinkage. Use a gentle mode such as "Delicate'' or "Dry'' on your washing machine's menu, place each item in the laundry net one by one, and only put two items at a time in the washing machine.

Dry flat in the shade
Basically, dry flat in the shade. If you hang it to dry on a hanger, it will easily lose its shape due to the weight of moisture. Use a flat drying net or multiple washing rods to allow air and wind to pass through to the back of the clothes. Do not use the dryer! is. It will shrink.

Ironing also possible
While producing steam at medium heat, move the iron gently so that the iron floats slightly. Please do not press it too hard or apply it for a long time.

*Do not use drum-type washing machines (due to high friction)

About us

Originally a web production and overseas marketing company, the representative's love for cashmere led us to create cashmere knitwear. We hope to be able to introduce high-quality items to everyone.

PlejBela is a word that means "very beautiful" in Esperanto. We named it with the desire to share good things regardless of country or language.

Message from the creator

I love cashmere and have been buying various items for many years, about 10 years ago I came across Toyoboshi's cashmere. It has a wonderfully soft and smooth texture, I was impressed the moment I picked it up. For some reason, touching it makes me feel calm.

There are other types of soft cashmere, but in my experience, many of them tend to fluff and fray when washed and don't last very long. Toyoboshi's cashmere shows almost no deterioration no matter how many times you wash it at home. Of course, the surface will get a little bristly, but the softness will increase and you will feel like you are "nurturing" cashmere. In addition, it can be easily washed not only by hand but also by machine. (Please refer to the washing tips) Scarfs and stoles cause less friction when worn, so the scarf that I bought 10 years ago and use daily is still looks amazingly beautiful.

Cashmere knitwear from overseas high-end brands are certainly wonderful, but I think the various margins and costs associated with opening stores around the world add a lot to the price (of course, that's business). Toyoboshi's cashmere is of the highest quality and is available at a price range that even ordinary people can afford. I wanted other people to know this quality items, so I purchased Toyoboshi yarn and started making knitwear myself. The knitting was carefully completed by consulting with professional knitters in Japan with skills and a proven track record.

Fulling

Home fulled Cashmere knit

There is a finishing process called "fulling'' in the production of knitwear. This may not be a very familiar concept, but is a very important step that determines the texture of cashmere knitwear.
The yarn used in knitting factories is hard and stiff, unlike the yarn sold as yarn balls in retail stores. In the final process, by kneading the knitted item in water while allowing moisture to penetrate, the fibers become intertwined with each other and shrink, increasing the thickness. Fuzz comes out from the threads, making the texture of the threads and fabric less noticeable, creating the fluffy state unique to knits.

We have noticed that the items have different texture depending on the factory, even with the same yarn and the same knitting method are used. We investigated where this difference comes from, found out that the length of soaking in water during the fulling process, the degree of kneading, the amount of washing, how it is dried afterwards makes the difference.
Furthermore, even if the same method is used, the finished product will vary slightly depending on the color of the thread. Each factory uses its knowledge and experience to develop its own recipe.

In order to bring out the beauty of cashmere yarn to its fullest and give it the finish we wanted, We decided to try fulling it ourselves. Products are delivered in its raw knitted state. With some advice from Toyoboshi, we have develpoed the series that focuses on texuture by home fulling.

USing a large number of samples by changing the soaking time, washing length, strength, etc. we collected various data. With completely natural air-dried, aiming for a fluffy, gentle, moist and smooth finish, we have come to the "ideal" tecture for our beloved cashmere yarn PIARA. We hope you will enjoy the softness that increases every time you wash it at home.
