Steps Example

This is one example of how to full your “Finish-It-Yourself Cashmere” at home.
Results may vary depending on the yarn type, water quality, climate, and other conditions.

① Pre-Wash

• Fill a bucket with water (about 30°C) and dissolve a small amount of neutral detergent.
• Gently press-wash the item by hand.
• Dark-colored items may bleed dye, so take care to prevent color transfer.
• Rinse 3–4 times until the water runs clear.

The key point is to “press gently” rather than rub vigorously.

② Soaking

• Leave the item submerged in clean water for 1–2 hours.
• This step allows the fibers to fully absorb water and is essential for achieving the desired finish.

③ Main Wash

• Place the item in a laundry net and run on a dry mode (or delicate course) for about 10–15 minutes.

Be careful — the regular wash cycle may create too much friction.

• If using fabric softener, add it to the softener compartment of the machine or dissolve it in a bucket of water and soak the item for 30–60 minutes.
• Rinse once afterward.

Adding fabric softener gives an even softer, more supple touch.

• Spin-dry in the washing machine for about 1 minute — just enough to remove water.
• Machine spinning is recommended over wringing by hand, as centrifugal force is gentler on the fibers.

④ Drying

• Air-dry in a well-ventilated indoor area or bathroom.
• Avoid tumble dryers and direct sunlight.

Drying flat helps prevent the garment from losing its shape.

After Drying

⑤ Remove Waste Yarn

• Once dry, carefully remove the “waste yarn” attached at the cast-on edge.
• This temporary yarn is knitted to stabilize the starting edge and is no longer needed once the piece is complete.

It can be easily pulled out, but avoid forcing it — gently follow the flow of the yarn as you unravel it.

⑥ Finishing with Steam Iron

• Use a medium-temperature steam iron and lightly apply steam.
• Do not press down firmly — simply allow the steam to hover and relax the fibers for the final finish.

Natural fibers each have their own unique personality. Enjoy these subtle variations as part of your one-of-a-kind creation.

If you are concerned about over-fulling, start with a gentler finish and adjust gradually. Excessive fulling can cause the fabric to felt, which cannot be undone.

With careful care even after wearing, the fibers will continue to become more beautiful over time.
